Happy to be happy

Today I am in a fabulous mood, and I'm happy just to be happy.

I'm grateful for the gorgeous day and pleasant to work. I'm also grateful for the comfy new sandals that make the walk to work so easy on my feet (although mine are not pink).

I'm grateful that my dinner party went well last night. The chocolate fondue was great, but the time hanging out with friends was even better.

Very nice sandals. Everyone here loves Danskos, although the clogs are the most popular (for weather reasons).

What color did you get?

I got the caramel ones, which are not actually shown on that website. They're darker than the honey ones, which made my sort-of-olive-toned skin look quite yellow. Not that anyone's really looking at the color of the skin on my feet.

I've never had Danskos before, but I swear I'm never buying another brand of shoe again. Maybe I'll get the clogs this winter. I walk 2 miles between the metro and work and usually that means wearing my running shoes and carrying "nice" shoes with me to work. Well, if I'm wearing a skirt. If I'm wearing pants and don't have to go to any meetings, I just stay in my tennies. Which makes me grateful for my academic research job.

So many women here have the Dansko clogs. They are apparently really comfortable, and someone told me that they are pretty good to wear when it is icy, too.

When going into someone's home, everyone here takes off their shoes in the entryway. Clogs are great for that.
